Houston, we have a crawler!

Who thinks he is in the army. With both arms in motion and one leg pushing him forward, Jack pulls himself across the floor at alarming speeds. His favorite targets? Paper and doorstops.

A week ago, I took this photo with my cell phone and sent it to my sister telling her Jack was about to crawl. At that time, he was still getting up on all fours and rocking back and forth. He would move a leg, but then get really frustrated and start crying. It wasn't until this morning that he realized how much more effective the army crawl is.

My days of sitting him in a pile of toys and going about my business are over. Sigh.

Violet! You're turning violet, Violet!

Ellie is a huge fan of berries...blueberries, strawberries, blackberries...any berries. So, when she asked to go berry picking, I knew she would be in heaven. I also knew that she wouldn't be able to resist those berries.
And so, I predicted right then and there that Ellie was going to eat so many berries that she would throw up all over my car on the ride home. And she did.

One thing I didn't predict? This giant snake Kolby spotted.

Snakes and vomit are two of my least favorite things, but being able to bring home a pound and a half of blueberries, and Ellie's pure joy in picking them, far outweighed the whole snake/puke thing.

Impromptu photo session

Tom was trying to take a nap, so I took the noisy kids outside to play. It was such a pretty day out that I decided to snap a few pictures. I love the way they turned out!

And then I got on Picnik and messed around a bit so I could feel even more like a photographer.

Oh, Jack.

Jack has been seriously working on his top teeth these past few days and the only thing that makes him happy is letting him stand. The kid always wants to stand. He is never going to learn to crawl if he keeps this up. I was relieved to see that his top right tooth had broken through this morning. Tom has been out of town this weekend and Jack was giving me a run for my money yesterday. In an odd twist, Ellie has been a total angel.
