Our Epic Road Trip: Part Two - New Jersey

From Washington, D.C., we only had like a four hour rive to get to Tom's Aunt Maureen's house in Tom's River, New Jersey.  First off, I want to say, Tom's New Jersey family is AWESOME.  Seriously. For the life of me, I cannot figure out why New Jersey gets such a bad rap.  Anyway, we got to Tom's Aunt's house and she immediately spoiled us with gifts.

We spent the night there and then left the next day to go to Tom's sister's beach house.  We really needed this stop.  A time to just relax, hang out with family, and throw all schedule out the window. We walked to the beach, but the water was FREEZING.  It kept me from going in, but it didn't stop the kids.

Tom's sister threw a party for Tom's dad's birthday and for her twin boys' confirmation.  It was a great opportunity for the New Jersey family to get together.

Tom's Aunt Patty had this special pass from the state Senator which allowed us to go to the boardwalk and get all rides and attractions for free.  We shared it with their cousins and the kids had a blast.

Tom's dad took us to a singing ice cream parlor that was also a lot of fun.  Seriously, my kids LOVED the Jersey shore.

Alas, our time in New Jersey was over and it was time to head into The City.
