Aggie and Oatmeal day

I decided to dress Ellie up in her A&M clothes today since we had no plans to go anywhere and I didn't have to worry about her being mistaken for a boy. I couldn't help saying Gig 'em to her over and over and she would just laugh and laugh when I sang the Aggie War Hymn! Never too early to start brainwashing. To really end the day right, I dressed her in her Aggie pajamas for bed.
Also, we tried oatmeal today for the first time today and she seemed to enjoy it even more than the rice cereal! I just have so much fun hanging out with Ellie :)

Cereal Time!

Tonight we introduced Ellie to her first food (other than breast milk). She loved it! I think more of it got on her face and bib then down her throat, but I think she would have finished the whole bowl if I let her. Oh, and she wore her "I spit up on t.u." bib. Gig 'em!

4 month checkup

Ellie went to see Dr. Nguyen this morning for her 4 month checkup and vaccinations. She weighed 15lb, 7oz and is 24 1.2 inches! She is getting so big. Her weight is in the 90% and her height is 75%! Despite her cold, Dr. Nguyen says she is very healthy and strong. She also said we should introduce solids so after the dr. appointment, Ellie and I went to the store and bought her rice cereal, baby food, bibs, infant spoons, a Snickers bar, and chocolate ice cream (ok, some of those items may have been for me). I am excited to introduce her to something new!

4 Months!!!

Ellie is four months old today! She currently has a bad cold, but she is still staying so happy! She is such a joy to have around. She is so quick to smile at everyone. She is also getting LOUD! Before she would just coo softly, but now she is really making her voice heard whether she is just loudly "talking" or squealing in delight.
It is fun watching her get interested in toys. She is really adept at grabbing her toys and inserting them in her mouth. She seems to have turned into a leaky faucet these days as she is always drooling and chewing on her hands! She also likes when her daddy makes her fly through the air...she will just start laughing and laughing!
Ellie is growing so quickly and I am looking forward to her doctor's appointment on Thursday to see how much she has grown! It is hard to believe it has already been four moths since Ellie joined our family. We are so in love with our little girl.

Fun times with family!

On Monday night Aunt Patty, Aunt Maureen, Aunt Denise, and Cousin Sean all came over for a visit. They live in New Jersey so Ellie hadn’t had a chance to meet them yet (Aunt Tara and Nana came over, too). It was well past Ellie’s bedtime, but she was so happy to get all the attention that she stayed awake to smile and charm everyone.

Family Reunion

This past weekend, Ellie and I went to Branson, Missouri for my grandparents' family reunion. We were fortunate enough to hitch a ride with Uncle Mark, Aunt Rosie, and the girls! Ellie did so great on the 11 hour trip. I hadn't seen my grandparents since my wedding 4 years ago so it was really wonderful visiting with them. I even got a 4-generation picture with Ellie, me, my mom, and my grandma.
Also, Ellie went swimming for the first time! She loves baths so I figured she would like the pool. Unfortunately, she was so tired that she fell asleep after only 5 minutes in the water!

Daycare

Tuesday, August 1st, was Ellie's first day of daycare. I was a nervous wreck dropping her off. I may have shed a few tears on my way to work (ok, a lot of tears...fine, I bawled my eyes out).
Luckily, the daycare is right by my work so I can go nurse Ellie on my lunch break. She seemed to do pretty well and all her teachers loved her (of course, they probably wouldn't tell me if they hated her)!
Tomorrow, Ellie and I are leaving for Branson, Missouri for a family reunion. Ellie has never been in the car for 10 hours straight before so I am keeping my fingers crossed that all goes well!
