Thankful
We are so crazy busy around here preparing for the big move. We closed on our current house this morning and will close on our new (to us) house on Friday. Thursday we are loading up the truck and Friday we are unloading. My family has just been absolutely amazing. Rosie watched my kids today while we closed and ran errands. And then Dianna and Sabrina are babysitting Thursday and Friday. And all of them have repeatedly offered to help me pack, clean, etc! My two brothers and brother-in-law are giving up their time and muscles to help both days with the loading and unloading. And my sister-in-law, Tara, has acted as our Realtor and gone way above and beyond. Seriously, she is an awesome Realtor and I am not just saying that because I am related to her (or because she waived her Realtor's fee)! I just feel really thankful for my family. Plus, I owe them all BIG-TIME so I hope they don't hesitate to cash in on some free baby-sitting or whatnot!

Mum's the word
Look what I found when packing up my closet…my old mums from high
school! I remember how proudly I wore them on homecoming day, walking
through the hallways with my bells jingling, comparing myself to all the other
mum-wearers. Now as a teacher I hate them, so it makes it a little easier
to toss them in the trash.
Ellie begged me to
let her keep one because they are "so pretty!" but I stayed strong
and all four of those monstrosities hit the trash can.

Jack's 2 year stats (9 months late)
I took Jack in for his 2 year check-up Monday. Yes, I know he will be 3 in October. Better late than never, right? Truthfully, I only took him because I thought he was behind on his shots. I was wrong. Turns out he doesn't need shots again til age 4. So, I basically exposed him to countless germs so the doctor could tell me his weight, height, and head circumference.
Weight - 35.5
Height - 37.5
Head - 20.5
I can't even go back and compare his stats to Ellie's because I actually took her in for her 2 year appointment on time. My poor, shafted, 2nd child.

Vegas, baby!
We are on the move! We put our house back on the market this summer and the first real showing we got put in an offer that same day. They then waived the inspection and option period. Crazy, right? So, Tom and I went into high gear looking for a house. It was all very fast-paced and high-stress, but we eventually found a home and we close on both houses August 3rd...hopefully.
In the midst of all this craziness, Tom and I took a trip to Vegas for a week! It was so fun. Well, not at first because the airline lost our luggage and we spent the first day and evening worried that it would never be returned. Luckily, they found it eventually, but not until I bored everyone on Facebook with my constant complaints about it.
We stayed at the Tropicana, which is newly renovated and very reasonably priced. I liked that it was relatively quiet and they had lots of room by the pool. Most of our vacation money was budgeted toward shows. We saw Penn & Teller (they had more of an agenda than I expected, but I really liked their show), Cirque du Soleil's Zumanity, and Phantom of the Opera. Phantom was by far my favorite.
For all of our shows we had seats right in front. I kind of regretted those great seats during Zumanity. I probably should have researched that one a little more. They advertise it as the sensual side of Cirque du Soleil. Um, sensual in Las Vegas terms apparently means topless. Yikes. The Laugh Factory was in our hotel and they were offering a buy one get one free deal for hotel guests. We bought the cheapest seats, but when we went to check in, the usher eyed Tom and offered us VIP seats. He took us to the very front table that was pushed up against the mic stand. 
It was uncomfortably close. When the headliner came out, we knew we were in trouble. He had a bald head like Tom and was even dressed similarly. He immediately went into a bit where Tom was "Big Me." He kept coming back to us during the show and even invented a little rap that Tom could use to seduce me. It was actually really funny.
We had such a great time, but now we are home and I have about two weeks to pack up my entire home. I am really missing those lazy days by the pool in Vegas!
